The Rotary Club of Oldsmar/Eastlake is currently working on a district grant project called “Adaptive Wheel Chairs for Wounded Warriors”. Working together with The Wounded Warrior Project, a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans, this project will supply more than $20,000 worth of the specialized adaptive wheel chairs for wounded service members of the United States armed forces for many years to come through the Wounded Warrior Project office in Tampa, Florida. These equipment will enable the wounded warriors to participate in various sports program such as adaptive soccer, football, softball, and basketball ? all in specialized wheelchairs. The program is designed to enhance recovery by engaging wounded, ill, and injured Service members early in individualized physical and cognitive activities outside of traditional therapy settings. The program hopes to inspire recovery and physical fitness and encourage new opportunities for growth and achievement. The benefits of physical activity for injured Service members include reduced stress, increased quality of life, lower blood pressure, weight management, and enhancement of the rehabilitative process. All equipment will be stored at and maintained by The Wounded Warriors Project Tampa office for any wounded service members to checkout and use in the adaptive sport programs.
Any Rotary club in the district can be part of this district grant project by contributing at least $500 and providing the necessary manpower to assemble and distribute the equipment as well as with long term progress follow-up.

Business and individual donation to this project in any amount are also accepted by the Rotary Club of Oldsmar/Eastlake. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and Oldsmar/Eastlake’s 501(c)(3) Non-Profit/Charities Foundation will be issuing tax receipts for the donations. Check should be made payable and mail to:
